Dear teachers and students,
We have designed a fun and exciting project in which your school will work together with schools in India/Europe. The objective of this project is that you will create and ultimately perform a play which conveys beliefs, values and attitudes from both Dutch and Indian cultures. To achieve this we have organised a series of lessons, assignments and video-conference/skype meetings that will help you reach this wonderful goal. Through research into your own culture and exchanging information with each other, you will learn to recognise that although people are different, they often share some common experiences, values and attitudes.
Using your own country’s folktales you will share your findings and start to identify similarities and differences between both countries. You will then use the information you have gathered and start to write your own story and play based upon the folktales you have researched and chosen. This story will be published on this site. Your story will then be translated to a script and be performed by your partner school. Conversely, you will make a script from the story of your partner school. Finally, you will perform your play, film it and upload it to this site. You will evaluate each other's work and talk about it in a video-conference/skype meeting at the end of the project. I wish you all an enormous amount of fun with this wonderful creative (learning) opportunity.
