WELCOME
Dear all,
The Theatre Project is going into its fourth year; it has been quite a success so far. In its first year, only 4 schools took part. It is wonderful to see that 6 schools are taking part this year. The project differs from other Eumind projects in that it has been designed to work bi-laterally between schools; students exchange stories and use these to make their plays.
The students will upload their articles on this Weebly site, on the designated pages. Teachers will have access to the pages of their school and they will create editor accounts for their groups.
The buttons below give you information from the Eumind team, as well as a very clear instructions video (the latter is about an hour long, but well worth watching if you are new to Weebly).
Planning
As we mentioned before, this is a bilateral project, therefore it will be easier for everyone if teachers coordinate the project with their colleagues from the other school; i.e. contact each other, coordinate the time and check holidays between both schools, and set up their own VC/Skype meetings between their groups.
It is in our experience that lack of time, due to other school activities, sometimes resulted in rushed end-products. This is a shame, as it is so much fun for students to see their story acted out properly in a play by the counterparts. However, we understand that this is sometimes unavoidable, as we all have busy curriculums.
Our advice is to keep the introduction phase (stage one, deadline 10/10/2016) to no more than 3 lessons. Depending on school holidays in October and November, there are about 4 weeks for the research and creative writing phase (stage two, deadline 07/11/2016). Please feel free to adapt the planning to your school's availability. However, we must stress to always allow at least 5 to 6 lessons for the creation, acting out and filming of the play at the end of this project (stage three, deadline 05/12/2016).
We hope the above advice and information is clear. Please do not hesitate to contact Jantien, should you have any questions. In the mean time, we wish you and your students a wonderful journey with the Theatre Project.
Kind regards,
Ingrid Bews and Jantien Spijker
